No! Share Product explicitly states in their privacy policy that they do not track, collect, or sell browsing data. The extension only reads product info when you click the button—it does not monitor your activity.
I reviewed the code (it's on GitHub) and can confirm it's legit.
I was concerned about this too, so I actually read their privacy policy. Here's what I found:
What they DON'T do:
- No selling data to third parties
- No tracking across other websites
- No sharing with advertisers
What they DO collect:
- Items you save (obviously, that's the point)
- Basic usage stats (to improve the product)
I've been using it for 8 months and haven't noticed any increase in targeted ads or spam. My data feels safe.
If you're still concerned, you can always use it in incognito mode, but I don't think it's necessary.
I work in tech and privacy is important to me. I checked Share Product's privacy practices before using it.
Good signs:
- They're a small company, not a data broker
- Their business model is simple (free tool, probably planning premium features)
- No sketchy third-party trackers in their extension
I use uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger, and neither flags Share Product as problematic. That's a good sign.
Bottom line: I trust them more than Pinterest or Amazon, who definitely sell your data. Share Product seems legit.
