What is the difference between Share Product and Pinterest for wishlists?

I already use Pinterest to save products. Why should I use Share Product instead?

Great question! Pinterest is for inspiration (saving pretty pictures), while Share Product is for actionable shopping lists.

Share Product automatically captures the product name, price, store link, and image—everything someone needs to actually BUY the item. Pinterest just saves images.

Use Pinterest for inspiration, use Share Product for your actual wishlist!

Great question! They're completely different tools:

Pinterest:

  • For inspiration and ideas
  • Links often break or become outdated
  • No price tracking
  • Hard to organize for shopping
  • More like a visual bookmark

Share Product:

  • For actual shopping and wishlists
  • Live product links that stay current
  • Shows prices and availability
  • Organized for gift-giving
  • Designed for sharing with others

When to use each:

  • Pinterest: "I like this style of kitchen" (inspiration)
  • Share Product: "I want this exact product" (shopping)

I use Pinterest for ideas, then Share Product for the actual items I want to buy or receive as gifts!

I used Pinterest for wishlists for years, then switched to Share Product. Huge difference!

Pinterest problems I had:

  • Links would break (products discontinued, pages moved)
  • No way to see current prices
  • Hard to share with family (they'd need Pinterest accounts)
  • Couldn't organize by occasion or priority
  • Mixed inspiration with actual wants

Share Product advantages:

  • Links stay active and current
  • Shows real-time prices
  • Easy to share (no account needed)
  • Can organize into different lists
  • Focused on actual shopping

My workflow now:

  1. Use Pinterest for inspiration and ideas
  2. When I find something I actually want, save it to Share Product
  3. Share Product list = my real wishlist

Best of both worlds!

They serve different purposes, but Share Product is better for wishlists:

Key differences:

Purpose:

  • Pinterest = Visual inspiration board
  • Share Product = Shopping wishlist

Functionality:

  • Pinterest = Save images and links (often broken)
  • Share Product = Save live products with prices

Sharing:

  • Pinterest = Requires Pinterest account to view
  • Share Product = Anyone can view with a link

Organization:

  • Pinterest = Boards (visual, not shopping-focused)
  • Share Product = Lists (organized for gift-giving)

If you want people to actually buy you things, Share Product is the way to go. Pinterest is great for ideas, but Share Product is for action!
