Yes! You can add a note on your registry saying "We would also love contributions to our honeymoon fund via Venmo @YourHandle" or provide a link to Honeyfund.
Many modern couples do this and guests appreciate the honesty.
While Share Product focuses on physical products, here's a workaround I used for my honeymoon fund:
My solution:
- I added gift cards to my Share Product registry (Airbnb gift cards, hotel gift cards, airline gift cards)
- I added a note explaining these are for our honeymoon
- I also added some physical items (luggage, travel accessories)
This way, guests could either:
- Buy gift cards that go toward our honeymoon
- Buy physical items we'd use on the trip
It worked perfectly! We got enough gift cards to cover most of our honeymoon expenses.
Not as direct as a cash fund, but it worked for us!
I used Share Product for my wedding registry and handled the honeymoon fund separately. Here's what I did:
Two-pronged approach:
- Share Product registry: For physical gifts (kitchen items, home decor, etc.)
- Honeyfund/Zola: For honeymoon contributions
I included both links in my wedding website. Guests could choose:
- Buy something from Share Product (physical gift)
- Contribute to Honeyfund (experience/cash)
This gave guests options and worked really well. Most older relatives preferred buying physical gifts, while friends often contributed to the honeymoon fund.
Best of both worlds!
